Franky 9:20 | hi stephen, i am totally interested in your system. i want to establish a system like this in germany. i want to offer you a big webaccount on my own server (i am a small provider by my self). maybe you want to have a new isp to force the speed of this webservice. this webaccount i will offer you is for free (only for you) because i need help to establish my own service. (i have problems to setup my mobile phone to send the actual position via gprs) sounds interesting for you? please contact me at info@fafworx.de
Franky 16:37 | hi, its me again i got the error message on my mobile device (error in http operation + the string) wat can i do to setup my nokia 6230i correctly? blue tooth and gps positioning works fine. my mobile provider is vodafone. maybe i need to setup a new gprs connection for the mobitrack pro instead of the standard wap.vodafone.de? please help me...
Stephen 18:34 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Franky, Firstly, thanks for the offer of free webspace, however I have already signed up with a new hosting company so this shouldnt be necessary, but thanks anyway. On my phone (SE W800i) I didn't need to change the GPRS provider settings from the defaults for it to work (I'm with Vodafone UK), but it may be worth a try. Are you able to access the internet with other Java applicatons on the phone, eg Opera Mini (http://www.opera.com/mini)? Maybe its a general problem with the phone, rather than something specific to Mobitrack...? Also, have you set up MobitrackPRO according to the Settings/Devices page? Regards, Stephen
Franky 19:19 | hi stephen, thats exactly the point. with other applications like googlemaps mobile i have the same problems sending / receiving via gprs. have no clou whats the matter....
Stephen 20:15 Location: Phone Model: | Not too sure what to suggest - does the phones built-in browser have internet access? I don't know about Nokia, but Sony Ericsson have a 'WAP Configurator' on their website which allows you to select a Phone, Country and Network and they'll sms the WAP settings straight to the phone. Might be worth looking on the Nokia or Vodafone site for something similar...
Franky 12:53 | hi stephen, i made a lucky click on my mobile device. i had to set a access point for further connection. now a can send/receive data via gprs inside java programs. this setting is nowhere described in the user manual of the phone. the non-included programs on my phone have to connect via the virtual access point. they cannot connect directly like the programs that comes with the phone. thats it... ps. a question about the sending format from mobitrack: can you receive the altitude? the program shows it but the sended string have $GPRMC-format without altitude. maybe unteh.com team can deliver a format change included in the next version of mobitrack - what you think?
Stephen 13:05 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Franky, Glad to hear you've got your phone working. You're correct about the lack of altitude in the sent location - I've suggested this to Henson at Unteh but have not had any response. If you use the 'Send Track [GPRS]' menu option in MTP then it should upload the entire track to TMJ including the altitude. Also, if you use the 'Save NMEA Log' file option in MTP and then upload this file to TMJ it will show the altitude... Regards, Stephen
Franky 14:17 | hi its me again, to send the hole track is an option. thank you for that advise. i have another question: how you convert the received $GPRMC data into valid decimal latitude/longitude? i found nothing about it. is this received $GPRMC in grad°min'sec" -format?
Stephen 22:26 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Franky, No, the GPRMC sentence is actually pretty straightforward, its just Degrees and Minutes (with decimal Minutes), eg DDMM.MMMM (for Latitude), and DDDMM.MMMM (for Longitude). This page should tell you all you need: http://www.werple.net.au/~gnb/gps/nmea.html#gprmc Hope this helps!
Franky 11:12 | hi stephen, great thanx for your help (it really helps me find out all about it). my offer to you for free webspace with all you need is still on...
