draytonhouse 13:44 | Hi I have a BB8700V ( vodafone) with a Bluenext gps puck The software on the bb seems to work fine but if you exit then re-start the app it all seems to work except the screen is not updating if you press the space bar on the keyboard it updates but not untill. the log is running and updated to the web, just the screen is not. I have tryed each of the jar installs for BB, if I remove the app, reboot the BB and then re-install it all works fine, untill I exit and then restart the app. Also after the first exit ( 9 ) I restart the app and the screen will not auto update, the second time I exit ( 9 ) option it then hangs I have to then close the app May help with the 'hang' error on other forums Thanks Richard | |
Stephen 15:22 Location: Phone Model: | Hi Richard, Thanks for the report - these BlackBerry issues seem to be quite common! Are you connecting to the GPS device using the BlackBerrys 'internal GPS' (ie: is 'Use Internal GPS' ticked in the Settings screen). If so, could you try unticking this option and connect directly to the device (this should generally give a better readout). Also, does it still give the same problems if the Web/Enable Upload is not used? Cheers, Stephen | |
draytonhouse 23:46 | Hi After much testing and re installing I can give the following results:- installed blackberry 8707 exit from app - resart app - all ok setup bluetooth gps - exit app - start app all ok auto start gps enable - exit app - start app all ok setup web update codes - exit app - start app all ok start web update - ok exit app - start app all ok auto start web update - exit app - hang app had to close start app - screen not updating - exit app ( 0 then 9 ) app hang would not exit had to close app start app - un check auto connect to web - exit app - app lock again start app - all working again and screen updating!!! yey so it seems to be when the 'start web update at startup' check causes the thing to not update the screen and hang when exit. several removal and reinstall of the app and the above is a summery of what I have found Had the system running in the car today- all ok but the app crashed after about 1hr ( was web updating ) but if not web updating the app ran for over an hour alll ok I hope the above makes sence and I hope it helps bug finding Richard | |
