ChrisM 8:05 Location: Phone Model: | Please try to be a bit more specific as to what you are trying to do, and what is not working? What you are doing step-by-step, and what happens at each stage would hopefully enable someone to offer you some useful advice... Cheers, Chris.
nattila 11:52 | Hi, is there maximum file size in pixel or kbyte to use with map organizer? It works great with smaller files, but bigger doesn't apper in the window. Currently I would convert a 10240x6400px (6Mb) JPG file to map. thanks,
bigad 17:54 Location: Phone Model: | The largest images I have successfully converted so far have been 11600x6800px and 12000x5200px. These were in jpg format, but I'm experimenting with png now. File size for these was around 20mb. I don't think the full image is displayed in the window, but the maps work once uploaded to the phone. I don't know if there is a specific limit on file size or pixel dimensions.
Stephen 20:55 Location: Phone Model: | No, theres no hard limit as such built in to the MapOrganiser, so its just limited by what Java can handle. Try using the 'Start with 1GB Memory' shortcut to allow Java to use more memory. You can also edit this shortcut in Notepad to allocate even more (assuming your PC has enough RAM), eg for 2GB: java -Xmx2048m -jar TMJ-MapOrganiser.jar Also as Bigad suggests, using a PNG file can be more efficient. Make sure it is a 256-colour/8-bit palette - it'll then take up three times less memory in the MapOrganiser than a JPEG. (Note that this will only help for 'line-drawn' maps - maps with lots of fine shading or aerial photography are probably still better as a JPEG). Cheers, Stephen
nattila 11:55 | It works great thanks. :)
