Stephen 21:31 Location: Phone Model: | Summary (I'm grouping these two manufacturers together initially as their platforms seem similar) In general TMJ compatibility on these phones is sketchy, and I am unable to test them directly, however some Symbian-based models may work reasonably well, as do some recent Samsungs running their proprietary Bada OS. User reports welcome...!
ChrisM 9:16 Location: Phone Model: | Samsung C-3300 (Libre/Champ) Can confirm that although this phone will run most of TMJ successfully, due to a short-coming of its Java support, it is unable to support connection to a Bluetooth GPS device, which means none of the GPS functionality of TMJ will work. So for most practical purposes, this phone DOES NOT support TMJ. Regards, Chris.
ironband 17:42 Location: Phone Model: | Phone Model: Samsung Mythic (SGH-A897) Phone Firmware Version: A897UCJC1 TMJ Version Number and Build: v0.7.5 (FULL VERSION), Generic MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 With JSR-179 Internal GPS Country: United States Mobile Operator: AT&T GPS Type: Internal Could not install via phone, rather had to resort to installing using TKFE method and master key documented here: http://www.samsung-mythic.com/samsung-mythic-internals-and-master-key/installing-applications-on-the-solstice-using-tkfe-and-the-master-key/ It seems that using this method is necessary in order to grant permissions to the app necessary for accessing the internal GPS. Happy to report that the trial version worked so well, I decided to upgrade to the full version. All the touch screen functions and menus work great, and the phone seems to keep up well with the vector maps. Uploading and interfacing with the TMJ site are also working perfectly. All in all, use of TMJ on the Mythic is a successful enterprise once one gets past the installation issues.
porosus 15:16 | Phone Model: Samsung Monte (S5620) Phone Firmware Version: S5620BOJI1 TMJ Version Number and Build: v0.7.5 (TRIAL VERSION), Generic MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 With JSR-179 Internal GPS Country: Croatia Mobile Operator: T-Mobile GPS Type: Internal I played for two days with this mobile and ironman method, but no luck. Today i figured it out, and I am happy to share howto with u guys (Works also on Win7 x64, TKPE got problems with x64). The problem was that Internal GPS didnt get permissions to run. Stupid Samsung should have put some submenu for java app permissions. So solution was to install app in locked folder(whatever u install in locked folder doesnt give u permission messages while opening the java). NOTE: - Be careful while doing this, dont delete any content - I am not responsible if anything goes wrong, do it at ur own risk 1. Install Samsung Kies, or samsung modem mobile driver 2. Connect mobile with usb cable 3. Start TK File explorer - u can download it here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9CVPFA1K 4. COM settings are as follows: port (your samsung mobile port - view in device manager), baud rate (check in device manager - mine was 115200), parity 0, Stopbits 1, byte size 8 5. press connect - if it doesnt connect try method i wrote below 6. go to Exe\Java\Locked Games 7. Make new folder there, eq. TMJ and doubleclick so u enter it 8. locate jar & jad files on ur computer, rename them to tmj.jad & tmj.jar (if u dont do this, the mobile phone freezes & restarts), select them and click on download, after it finished disconnect usb cable 9. type this in keypad *#7092463*# (*#3971258*# in some models) "Internals" will appear 10. goto "5 DB Management"->"Update DB"->"1 JAVA" thats it, ure finished P.S. if u want fullscreen app without navigation keys, just add this line in jad file(open in text editor, eq. notepad ++) MIDlet-Touch-Support: True In order for TK FileExplorer port to work on x64 u have to do following: Open Device Manager (Right click My computer/Manage) Connect phone Expand Modems in Device Managers hardware list. Right Click my phone (Samsung USB Mobile Modem) and select properties. Click Diagnostics tab and click Query Modem, got a successful response. Click Modem tab and take note of Port used (COM5 in my case). Open TkFileExplorer and click settings, no port listed as usual. Manually add "COM5" to port settings, click ok. Click connect and it works!
lakeshooter 18:51 | Phone : Samsung Highlight SGH-T749 TMJ Version 0.7.9 Beta Country: USA Carrier: T-Mobile GPS internal So far the program can not be made to access the internal GPS. I tried porosus' guide to install the program in the locked files but it still has no GPS connection. It looks like the Highlight is a no-go for now. Shame, I was really looking forward to using this awesome looking tracking on our outings.
jole0909 17:47 | Phone Model: Samsung GT-B2710 (aka. Xcover 271) Phone Firmware Version: B2710BOJL1 TMJ Version Number and Build: v0.7.9 (TRIAL VERSION), Generic MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 With JSR-179 Internal GPS Country: Croatia Mobile Operator: T-Mobile GPS Type: Internal Hi, I'm gonna try to explain how i made my B2710 work whit TMJ. First this method i found on internet and just applied it to TMJ. http://www.trekbuddy.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=40837#40837 NOTE: - Be careful while doing this, don't delete any content - I am not responsible if anything goes wrong, do it at ur own risk So follow all steps form 1 to 5 on porosus post (see two posts above) now u need to delete these two files: Phone( P: )/AppEx/User/Java/Games/TMJ-Mobile/MANIFEST.MF Phone( P: )/AppEx/User/Java/Games/TMJ-Mobile/appdb/settings.bin Exit TKFile Exploret, disconnect mobile phone and pc and turn off and on your mobile phone. now TMJ should work whit out any problems (at least it's working for me ;))
faron4 22:10 | Phone Model: Samsung GT-B2710 (Ultra Classic) TMJ Version Number and Build: v0.7.9 (BASIC VERSION), Generic MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 With JSR-179 Internal GPS Country: Poland Mobile Operator: Plus GSM GPS Type: Internal Instalation It was quite easy. I opened http://www.trackmyjourney.co.uk/mobile in my phone and I loged in. Then Download TMJ-Mobile >> I accept These Conditions - Continue To Download >> choosed Generic MIDP2.0/CLDC1.1 With JSR-179 Internal GPS jad file. Then started instalation. In that way TMJ should be installed in phones with Samsung OS. I used TMJ in every posible way. Everything works correctly. In my experience I think it can be problem with external GPS in older phones. Samsung blocks acces into some function, but what is blocked depends on model.

banjix 16:15 | Install TMJ on Samsung H1 (GT-i8320), but didn't tested yet. At least, GPS is turned on when I start application. Not bad. :)
